2005 CIK Australian Karting Championships
15-September-2005
The Remo Racing Trulli Kart squad who have dominated this class for the last 2 seasons have continued on their winning way in 2005 with a clean sweep of the top 3 positions in Intercontinental A class. Inter ‘A’ has long been the backbone of the Australian CIK Championships and is still one of the most exciting classes to watch. This has been arguably the hardest fought class in the CIK Championship this year.

ICA ROUND 1 - Geelong, Victoria - 9th & 10th April
It was a Trulli 'white wash' again in 2005 with Trulli kart being 1st, 2nd and 3rd in ICA. The new 2005 JT3 chassis immediately showed its raw speed at the first round of the CIK Australian Championships by Trulli drivers Glen Powles, Daniel Ricciardo and Paul Pittam dominating qualifying 1st 2nd & 3rd and never headed all weekend dominating in all heats, final 1 and final 2.
ICA ROUND 2 - Eastern Creek, Sydney - 27th & 28th May 2005
Trulli drivers demonstarted that the first round was not just a 'lucky day' as they qualified 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th in all heats, final 1 and final 2.
ICA ROUND 3 - Ipswich, Queensland - 22nd & 23rd July
The Trulli Drivers truely did themselves proud by dimorilising their opposition in both Round 1 and Round 2 'so much so' that the opposition did not even 'turn up to compete' on this Round 3 at Ipswich after the Trulli Kart Teams' un-matched speed!!
ICA ROUND 4 - Bolivar, South Australia - 17th & 18th September 2005
Unfortunately, the Intercontinental A class will not be competing at Bolivar for this Round 4 either. So after two fantastic rounds the champion for 2005 has been decided. This makes the young talented Western Australian Daniel Ricciardo the Intercontinental A champion for 2005. Paul Pittam finished the championship in second place just 4 points behind Ricciardo and 2003 ICA champion Glenn Powles was 3rd.

JICA ROUND 1 - Geelong, Victoria - 9th & 10th April
The only Trulli Kart driver in the field was young Fergus Symes who was in-experienced as this was his very first ever JICA race!! Overcoming his fears of the daunting experience of being his first time in the fastest Junior class in Australia, Fergus drove to a deserving 3rd place in the final.
JICA ROUND 2 - Eastern Creek, Sydney - 27th & 28th May 2005
An exciting Round 2 at Eastern Creek saw Trulli pilot Fergus Symes in scintillating form taking the overall honours winning both Final 1 and Final 2.
JICA ROUND 3 - Ipswich, Queensland - 22nd & 23rd July
Fergus Symes was also destined to win this Round 3 but had to retire due to mechanical failure.
This week the 17th & 18th September 2005, Symes heads off to Bolivar in South Australia for Round 4... check this space for more news. |
