A TRULLI INTERCONTINENTAL ‘A’ AFFAIR
01-June-2005

2005 Australian CIK Karting Championships - Round 2
28/29 May 2005 - Eastern Creek International Karting Raceway

Intercontinental ‘A’ sponsored by Remo Racing was again a Trulli affair, young South Australian Paul Pittam (Trulli) continued his domination of Round 2 by taking a comfortable win in the first final. Daniel Ricciardo (Trulli) took position 2 from Simon Salvatico (Trulli). Glenn Powles retired from the first final with engine problems. In the second final Simon Salvatico spun on the straight at the start but was unable to get his machine restarted, in this race Pittam had to work a lot harder for the win as Ricciardo shadowed his every move, Ricciardo looked like he was conserving his equipment for a late race charge at Pittam, but young South Australian drove flawlessly to again take the chequered flag from round 1 winner Daniel Ricciardo in second. Victorian Glenn Powles overcome his mechanical problems from the first final to take the final step of the podium.

In both of the finals Symes showed a blistering pace with the superb braking abilities to retake the lead whenever he needed to. He put on a fine display of close hard racing.
