After many months of deliberation from the NKC regarding the rev-limiter for Leopard Class, it has finally been resolved after Thursday night's NKC telephone hook-up on 18.12.08. The implementation date of the Leopard Rev-Limiter will be compulsory as of the 1st of May 2009, but optional as of 1st January 2009. This gives the opportunity for the person buying a new engine to purchase it with a Rev-Limiter as it is already included as standard ready for the compulsory date of the 1st May 2009.Also, Restricted Leopard engine competitors can also use all three ignition units during the 12-month faze-out period. You have all year to comply by January 1st 2010. The old green and red button analogue 4-pole ignition will continue to be eligible for a 12-month faze out period but will not eligible for State and National Championships or Leopard Series events where it may be stated 'only key-start is allowed' in the supp-regs. In addition, I wish to remind everyone that I have kept the price of the Leopard engine fitted with the new Rev-limiter the same price at $2,995.00 which has remained the same price since 2001. |
