![]() Kosmic Racing NSW enjoys success and races for Franco – From Kosmic Racing NSW Team All Kosmic Racing NSW drivers wore black armbands at Round three of the CIK Series as a mark of respect to Franco Guaitoli. Franco Guaitoli was a very passionate karting enthusiast and the team wanted to aknowledge what he has done for the sport of Karting. The thoughts of all Kosmic Racing NSW team members goes out to his family at this time. ![]() Kosmic Racing NSW enjoyed success at Round Three of the CIK Stars of Karting Series presented by Castrol EDGE in Ipswich, Queensland on June 16/17. In the PRO LIGHT KF1 class the Kosmic Chassis was by far the dominant chassis filling the first three on the podium and also the next two places. Cian Fothergill put in a great display of driving on the Saturday after qualifying in fifth Cian adjusted the Kosmic Mercury chassis and Iame engine package to blitz the field driving from fifth to first in each on the heats. Sunday would see some bad luck for Cian with a loose part bringing him to an early exit from the first final whilst leading. Daniel Holhan returned to the series and battled hard all weekend. Dan and the team knew that the Ipswich track would be physically demanding on him after his recent rib injury. But he showed great determination to stay with the pack and improved as the weekend went on, he also came away injury free and ready to take on his home track at Round Four. The teams PRO JUNIOR KF3 class drivers Dimitri Agathos and Lachlan Gibbons both worked hard all weekend. For Lachlan it was his first experiance of the demanding Ipswich track, but he improved as the weekend went. Lachlan came away from the weekend with plenty of knowledge about the track and will be a much better driver for the experiance. JUNIOR NATIONAL HEAVY class driver Tom Chitty did very well in his Kosmic Chassis, Tom ran in secnd all weekend and was looking to move to the top step of the podium in the final however he lost the tune on his engine which slowed his charge. Tom still finished second and sprayed the champagne.
The team now looks forward to round four at Eastern Creek International Karting Raceway. For most of the team's drivers this is their home track. "I'm very happy with the way the team went at Ipswich, for some of our drivers it was their first time at the very tough Ipswich curcuit, Cian again had some bad luck but I am sure we will see his luck turn around from here. |
