about the WSK Euro Series

SKF-KF1 World Cup

The International race run in Japan was soaking wet, but still saw the 3 IAME PARILLA POWERED KARTS present in the race up in the first 5 places of the final.

The protagonist was Oliver Rowland (Parilla): he was 6th following the heats then he took it up a notch and won, with big gaps, both the prefinal and final race. He also recorded the fastest lap in both races.

Nyck De Vries did also very well: he was 4th overall following the heats and finished respectively 2nd in pre-final and 3rd in final, but still one of the fastest drivers in all races.

Shintaro Kawabata (Parilla), driving in his home country, was surprisingly fast in the heats, winning one of them and managing to start 2nd overall in the pre-final. However he retired from the pre-final, but made a nice come back in the final and earned deserved 5th place.

Asia-Pacific KF2 Championship

7 Iame engines out of the 26 at the start. It was a great weekend for Brian Homi Mehta (Parilla). After his  unlucky heats (24th), he made a great come back in the pre-final to take 3rd with the second fastest lap of the race.

In the final he immediately dropped to 24th following a contact on the first lap, but he again made a great recovery (this time recording the fastest lap of the race), to finish 7th. In the final, Kenshiro Wada (Parilla) is 6th, ending a weekend of great consistency on a positive note (10th in the pre-final). Kosugi Satoshi (Parilla) finished 9th
in the end after climbing back from 23rd place at the start, while Shinotani Hiroki (Parilla) finished 12th. Miyazaki Aiko (Parilla), Osada Kazumi (Parilla) and Luca Ghiotto (Parilla) retired.

THE COMMENT
Andrea Bossaglia, IAME Technical Director, commented on the two races at the Suzuka circuit in Japan:

"Unpredictable is the most fitting adjective to describe the Suzuka race and in the rain, on Sunday, our drivers demonstrated the efficacy of their driving abilities, Rowland above all! From a technical point of view is still necessary to adapt our engines to suit the particular needs of the Japanese circuit and to Japanese fuel, which is quite different from what we use in Europe.

I congratulate the Chiesa Corse Team and thank our Bruno Bugini and Tadashi Sasaki for his support!"
