Jarno took part in his first karting race at the age of eight and won numerous karting world championships before reaching Formula 1 in 1997.

His parents have supported his career throughout while his wife Barbara has been at his side since 2004.

JARNO TRULLI HAS ABRUZZO IN HIS HEART

A devastating earthquake hit the Italian region of Abruzzo in May 2009, killing over 300 and leaving 30,000 homeless.

Panasonic Toyota Racing Formula 1 driver Jarno Trulli was born in Abruzzo and immediately made it his mission to raise funds to help the victims.

As one of the most recognisable faces in Formula 1, he has used his profile to raise over €75,000, with much more to come from a charity auction of racing memorabilia at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza.

Jarno still has roots in Abruzzo, with a prospering vineyard at Podere Castorani and many memories of his childhood as an aspiring kart driver.
