The Leopard is on the prowl at the Southern Tasmania Kart Club's new club day series. Stateline Freight are helping to encourage karting to move into the 21st Century by supporting the three round series for karts with IAME Leopard engines

The Leopard engine has been proven worldwide and features electric start, a clutch and as it is water cooled it is quieter and more reliable than the older air cooled motors that currently dominate local karting. They produce more power than the common Clubman motors so the karts are exciting to watch and drive while the modern design ensured increased reliability.

The Stateline Freight Leopard Series will be conducted over the first three STKC Club Day race meetings:

5th February 2006
26th March 2006
30th April 2006

At each meeting there will be three heats and a final for both Leopard Light and Leopard Heavy. Points will be awarded for each race using the STKC's normal club series points format of 35, 32, 29, 27, 25, 24, 23, etc. with a Did Not Start earning zero points and a Did Not Finish getting five points. This system rewards participation and consistency, although as every kart has a clutch there should be less karts failing to finish than is normal with the older fixed drive machines.

Drivers will earn points based on their performance in their weight division with the series going to the highest points scorer overall from both Light and Heavy divisions. This means a Heavy can beat a Light if they are more consistent.

A feature of the Stateline Freight Leopard series will be that the most improved C Grade Licence Holder over the Series will receive a $ 150.00 Gift voucher from island karts 'n' parts.

At each meeting trophies will be presented to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place getters in both Light and Heavy plus a tool kit to the value of approximately $ 60.00 would be presented to the Driver of the Day. This would be judged by the stewards of the day on sportsmanship, driving ability and attitude.

Prize Money for the Series:
1st Place - $ 250.00
2nd Place - $ 150.00
3rd Place - $ 100.00
